About Tomahawk Island Yacht Club

Tomahawk Island Yacht Club  is a boating- based community social club for the Tomahawk Island Floating Homes Community, formally established Spring  2023.  Any current or former resident or owner of Tomahawk Island Moorage is eligible to join.   Our purpose is to to build community and provide boating fun and education for the Tomahawk Island Moorage via boat, paddleboard, kayak, canoe, and PWC based activities.  A 501(c)(7) entity. and a member of the Columbia River Yachting Association, we honor reciprocal privileges with member clubs as well as others.  While we do not have clubhouse facilities, we do have a guest dock as well as many members who have dock space for visiting members of other clubs.     

We engage in a wide range of events and activities for members and guests including moorage, local, regional  and overnight venues.  Beach Toons, St. Helens, Government Island, group kayaking, holiday wassailing with decorated kayaks, floating movie night, a Boat Bar Hop Dockside mooring party and many others provide great fun and opportunity for building community, engaging old friends, meeting new friends and sharing sea stories with our nautical neighbors on the river.

At Tomahawk Island Yacht Club our underlying philosophy is one of safety, inclusion, education and fun! Safety is taken seriously of course and we are open-minded, light hearted and good-humored with everything else.  Creative ideas and suggestions are always welcomed and encouraged.

We are a water based community and every member is a valued member of the community and the club.  Don't have a boat? We don't care.  Lost your kayak?  We don't care.  Can't stand up yet on your paddle board?  We don't care!  Everyone is welcome and valued.   And we have enough boats to bring along all!
